Service Dog Funding for Veterans
When a service dog is obtained through a facility accredited by either Assistance Dogs International (ADI) or International Guide Dogs Federation (IGDF) they often come at no additional cost for a veteran handler. The veteran may be responsible to pay the application fee and may be responsible for any expenses associated with the care and upkeep of the dog.

The VA has benefits available to veteran handlers that cover all veterinary care of the service dog, as well as all equipment needed to work with the animal. See the VA benefits fact-sheet here.

To find an accredited facility on the ADI website click here, click "Advanced Filtering Options" and select "veteran" to find facilities in your area that are equipped to train dogs for veterans.

To find an accredited facility through the IGDF website click here. IGDF accredits facilities all over the world spanning many countries.
Some facilities may be accredited by both the ADI and IDGF depending on the type of training services offered.
